Start in racquetball: When my father organized junior racquetball leagues, I went and played for fun – at that time I was 7 years old. I played in my first junior tournament the same year. I went to my first Canadian junior nationals in Valleyfield in 2015.
Reason for playing: I play racquetball for the competition and the community around the sport that has become like a second family. What I like most about racquetball is the speed of the ball and the feeling it gives me when I play.
Training habits: I train three times a week and try to play as often as possible. I also go to the gym when I have time.
Best Racquetball moment: I have many, but my favourite moments are probably my first Junior Nationals in 2016 in Kelowna and my first Junior Worlds in 2021 in Guatemala.
Non-Racquetball talents: I have been practicing karate since I was 4 years old and I am now a black belt.
When you are not playing racquetball, you are probably? I am probably studying and doing homework or working.
What is something people might not know about you or find surprising? At my first Junior World Racquetball Championships, I won the bronze medal in 14U singles.
What advice do you have for athletes who want to play at your level? Never give up and always persevere. Always give 100% in everything you do and one day your dreams will come true.
Who has been important in your development as an athlete? The immense support of my coach and my father Patrick, who always pushes me to the end and without him I wouldn’t be where I am. My friends have always been my number one fans and have always encouraged me.
