Award Bio – Andrew Dick

ANDREW DICK

  • 2019 Marc Caouette Award Recipient

Andrew Dick became involved many years ago as an enthusiastic parent of a junior racquetball athlete in Leamington, Ontario. Since becoming involved, Dick has shown his willingness to participate in the development of many young racquetball athletes from the Leamington area.

Over the years Dick became more involved and was always eager to learn.  He started out assisting with junior practice sessions and has advanced so that he now leads practices.

Coach Dick has always been a behind the scenes helper was willing to organize and run any task you ask of him without any credit expected.  He was always just happy to help.

Dick was asked years ago to handle the introductory junior level at our annual local tournament. Parents, players and organizers recognized his immediate success and his place as a tournament organizer was set.  He is understanding, compassionate and completely interested in ensuring the junior athletes have fun and are constantly learning more about our sport.

The success in the local programs in Leamington has a lot to do with Dick and his positive attitude. For this all involved are very grateful.

Although Dick is a very busy man outside of racquetball, he has recently agreed to take on the role of Head Coach of the Ontario Junior Team.  During his time at this position he has come to know many more players, parents and coaches across the country.

Dick is a very worthy recipient of the Marc Caouette Award and we thank him for his contributions to the junior racquetball program in Ontario, which in turn benefits the sport across Canada.
