Accomplishments

Lindsay Myers was one of Canada’s top racquetball athletes in the 1970s and 1980s. Myers achieved excellence in racquetball on the national and international scene at a time when the sport had hundreds of thousands of players in North America. His skills were legendary and his understanding of the game was phenomenal.

Myers won seven Canadian Men’s Open Singles championship titles between 1977 and 1984, winning the title six consecutive years in a row. He was a member of Team Canada for the 1986 World Championships, which is one of the most successful teams that represented Canada at that level.

Myers dedicated much of his time playing on the American and Canadian Pro-Tours. He was successful on both tours and was consistently ranked on top of the standings in the Canadian Pro-Tour. In addition, he won numerous tournaments in the United States and across Canada.

Myers was instrumental in developing the Canadian Professional Racquetball Organization (CPRO) in 1983 and served as acting Vice President. In its first year under his leadership, CPRO tournaments were held in eight different Canadian locations. CPRO continued to hold six to seven tournaments per year until the organization folded in 1987.
