We are pleased to announce that Terry Nelson, a long-time volunteer and champion of the sport, is joining the staff at Racquetball Canada as our new Financial Administrator. Terry begins with the organization on January 15, and he will be working closely with outgoing staff member Cheryl Adlard to ensure a smooth transition over the next few weeks.
“Racquetball Canada continues to attract, develop, and retain great people to help our sport grow,” said Kathy Brook, Racquetball Canada’s Executive Director. “Having Terry join Racquetball Canada as a staff member is another step forward. His experience in both racquetball, finance and auditing will help the organization in a positive way. We are very fortunate to have someone of Terry’s ability join our organization.”
“I began my racquetball life as a recreational player and quickly developed a life-long interest in our sport,” said Terry Nelson. “I have enjoyed watching my children develop as players and make great friends within racquetball while traveling locally, nationally and internationally. I am very happy to give back to the sport of racquetball which has given my family years of great adventures and memories.”
Terry brings a wealth of financial experience to the organization, He has been working in the financial sector for over 30 years, dealing with government agencies and specializing in national and international accounting procedures.
Terry is well known in the racquetball community, having served on the boards and committees of both Racquetball Ontario and Racquetball Canada for over 20 years in many different capacities, including the finance committee of Racquetball Canada. He has contributed as a facility owner and continues to give to the sport as a coach at the grassroots and provincial level, a sport leader, programmer, and tournament host. He is an international level official and is also a Racquetball Canada Development Centre Coach for junior athletes.
