Lesson Plans for Teachers

Introduction to Racquetball Lesson Plans

Looking for a fun, fast-paced, and easy-to-teach sport for your students?  In partnership with Physical and Health Education Canada (PHE Canada), Racquetball Canada is proud to offer comprehensive, easy-to-follow lesson plans that introduce students to the sport while promoting physical literacy, teamwork, and active participation.

Racquetball is a fun, engaging, and social sport that gets students moving and working together. The step-by-step lesson plans provide a structured yet flexible approach to skill development, gameplay, and inclusive instruction, ensuring all students – regardless of age or ability – can experience success. Plus, the sport helps develop key physical literacy skills that transfer to many other activities.

Whether you’re looking to enhance your physical education curriculum or introduce something fresh and exciting, these lesson plans make it easy to bring racquetball into your gym.

Racquetball Canada’s Badge Program – Take Your Students to the Next Level!

If you have access to racquetball courts, the Racquetball Canada Badge Program is the perfect way to help take your students to the next level. This inclusive program provides a step-by-step curriculum designed to build confidence and ability at every stage.

With 10 progressive skill levels, students advance at their own pace, earning report cards and optional badges as they demonstrate their abilities. The program aligns with Racquetball Canada’s athlete development pathway, ensuring that as students progress, they gain the right skills for their level of play—including those needed for competition.

Make Racquetball a Lifelong Skill for Your Students

Don’t let the momentum stop when your school program ends! Give your students the opportunity to keep learning and playing the sport you’ve introduced.

Before your program wraps up, connect with your provincial association or an affiliated club to explore options for students who want to continue. They can provide program details and contact information to include on a take-home postcard, helping students and families take the next step. With enough notice, they may even be able to provide printed copies for you.

Set your students up for success—keep them playing!
