Samuel Murray Wins Bronze in Men’s Singles at the 2025 Pan American Championships

Guatemala City, Guatemala (April 16, 2025) — Samuel Murray has earned a bronze medal in Men’s Singles at the 2025 Pan American Championships, adding another impressive milestone to his already outstanding international racquetball career.

In Thursday’s semi-final, Murray went head-to-head with top-seeded Javier Mar of Mexico in a match that delivered everything fans hoped for — lightning-fast rallies, strategic shot-making, and intensity from start to finish. The first three games were incredibly tight, with both players trading points.

Murray went behind early in the fourth match and although launched a strong comeback midway through the game, Mar regained momentum and carried it into the tie-breaker. The final scoreline — 9-11, 11-9, 10-12, 11-3, 11-4 — reflected just how close the battle was.

This marks Murray’s 16th podium finish at the elite international level — a remarkable achievement. While he is often seen competing in doubles at international events, it was a special opportunity to watch him showcase his skills in singles competition this week.

And he’s not done yet. Murray will be back in action later this week (Thursday or Friday, schedule TBD) as Team Canada competes in the Men’s Team Competition, giving him another shot at the podium.

Congratulations, Sam!
