WINNIPEG (August 2, 2019) Racquetball competition is underway for Team Canada at the 2019 Pan Am Games being held in Lima Peru. The tournament runs from August 2 to 10.
There are three events in the tournament including:
- men’s and women’s singles
- men’s and women’s doubles
- men’s and women’s team event
The following athletes are representing Canada and will compete in the singles, doubles and team event.

The team is being supported by coaches Michel Gagnon of Montréal, Qué., Corey Osborne of Tiny, Ont. and physiotherapist Christian Lord of Montréal, Qué.
Jennifer Saunders is competing in her fourth Pan Am Games event. This is Frédérique Lambert‘s third Pan Am Games experience. Coby Iwaasa was on the Pan Am Games team for the 2015 Toronto Games and this is Samuel Murray‘s first Pan Am Games. Canada was on the podium in 2015, winning bronze medals in both the men’s and women’s team event and the team hopes to pick up medals in other events as well in 2019.
Geri Powell, Administrator of High Performance for Racquetball Canada feels positive as competition gets underway. “Looking at the round robin draws our team has a good chance of seeding well in the elimination draws,” said Powell. “Seeing the training that the athletes have continued to commit to after Nationals, I feel that they are ready for these games and are looking forward to representing Canada.”
The draws are being posted on both the International Racquetball Federation (IRF) website as well as the Lima 2019 site, where you can view live scores.
