The 2004 Women’s Award was given to Jeanette Clark for her involvement in developing the women’s racquetball program in Winnipeg. Bob Bartlett, known to some as ‘Father’, presented the award to Clark, and in part he said “we are lucky in Manitoba to have a group that has put in effort to grow and develop women’s participation in racquetball. I would like to present this award to a member of this group.”

“This lady from the time she was a novice participated in tournaments and Racquetball Manitoba events When the need arose she stepped up to take over as co-coordinator and eventually took over as coordinator of the women’s week end. She bought to the job her unsurpassed love and passion for the game.”

Under Clark’s leadership, the women’s program in Winnipeg has expanded from an annual weekend event, to include a monthly weekend drop-in event, and then a league with over 40 players. Clark has written a description of what they have done in Winnipeg that appears on the Racquetball Canada web site.

In addition to winning the award, Clark also did well on the court, winning women’s B/C doubles with Barb Neudorf, coming second in mixed B/C doubles with Jamie Bileski and placing fourth in B singles.
