Q&A

Start in Racquetball :  I started playing racquetball because of a summer camp I went to when I was 9. It was a robotics camp, and for some reason or another, we played racquetball one day. Then after that I wanted to go for lessons and just kept on playing.

Reason for playing : I play racquetball because I love the sport. I love every aspect; the competition, all the friends I’ve made because of it, how it keeps me active, how it makes me feel when I play. Everything.

Training Habits: I have two practices with my coaches each week. I also go to Monday night doubles, which is where we just play doubles for hours. And I have one league match every week.

Favourite Racquetball memory: My favouite racquetball memory would have to be the 2025 Nationals B division doubles championship match. It was an all Winnipeg player match. Me and Cher Allen vs Sam Rosales and Aidan Fanshaw. It just felt like we were back home playing for fun.

Non-Racquetball hidden talents: My non-racquetball hidden talent would be playing guitar. My grampa got me in to it when I was pretty young and it just stuck with me since.

If I’m not playing racquetball, I’m usually . . I’m either listening to music or playing some kind of instrument – whether it’s guitar, trumpet, or attempting to sing (and mostly failing). If I’m not doing any of those, then I’m probably at school.

A surprising fact about me: Something that most people don’t know about me is that I’m a certified lifeguard and am actively pursuing a career in that field. I’m also training to be swimming instructor.

Advice for other developing athletes: My advice would be to keep practicing while putting in the effort and time. But to also have intent while you practice. Without intent you’re just hitting a ball against the wall and hoping for results.

Who has been important in my racquetball journey: The person who’s been the most important in my development would have to be my coach, Evan Pritchard. I’ve been training with him since I began playing and he’s helped me grow in to the player that I am today. Without him I probably would’ve given up on playing racquetball a long time ago.
