The tournament, which is being hosted by the Edmonton Racquetball Association runs from February 9 to 11.<\/p><p>This is the second selection event of the 2023\/2024 season for high performance athletes from across Canada who are competing for national and international team placement. Results will impact the team that represents Canada at the upcoming Pan American Championships in late March as well as this year&#8217;s World Championships team.<\/p><p><strong>What:<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>Edmonton Open and the Winter National Team Selection Event<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>Who:<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>66 competitors from British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario and Qu\u00e9bec; including those playing at the elite level as well as players who are playing in the competition for life context<\/li><li>Most of Canada&#8217;s national team and top ranked athletes, including Santiago 2023 Pan Am Games team members <a href=\"https:\/\/racquetballcanada.ca\/players\/frederique-lambert\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-link-type=\"web\">Fr\u00e9d\u00e9rique Lambert<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/racquetballcanada.ca\/players\/michele-morissette\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-link-type=\"web\">Mich\u00e8le Morissette<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/racquetballcanada.ca\/players\/samuel-murray\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-link-type=\"web\">Samuel Murray<\/a>. Murray won silver in two events at the Games. Murray and Lambert are also reigning national open singles champions.<\/li><li>the tournament is open to spectators free of charge<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>When:<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>February 9 to 11, 2024<\/li><li>Open competition begins at 9:45 (Mountain Time) on Friday, February 9 with the Men&#8217;s Open final scheduled for Saturday, February 10 at 16:15 and the Women&#8217;s Open final scheduled for 17:00.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>Where:<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>Glen Allan Recreation Complex, 199 Georgian Way, Sherwood Park Alberta<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>Why:<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>to select national elite and development teams and teams for international competition and to provide a safe, enjoyable competitive opportunity for players at all levels<\/li><\/ul><p>Racquetball Canada hopes to provide a commentated livestream of some of the Open matches. Those interested will be able to watch the matches on the Racquetball Canada Facebook page at: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/racquetballcanada\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-link-type=\"web\">www.facebook.com\/racquetballcanada.<\/a><\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Racquetball Canada appreciates the support of the Edmonton Racquetball Association and its generous sponsors in hosting this event.
