The Sport Development Committee is chaired by the Chair of Sport Development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This committee is responsible for officials development and certification, coach development and certification, rule changes, rankings, the selection of hosts for selection events, junior nationals and nationals as well as oversight of Racquetball Canada sanctioned events<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Sport Development Committee is comprised of at least 2 volunteers in addition to the Chair.\u00a0 The Racquetball Canada High Performance Director\u00a0serves as an ex-officio member.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hall of Fame Selection Committee<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
The purpose of the Racquetball Canada Hall of Fame is to honour those who have distinguished themselves as being either an exceptional athlete or member of an exceptional team; or a person who has made a significant contribution as a builder of sport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The purpose of Racquetball Canada\u2019s annual awards is to honour those who are making or who have made outstanding contributions to leadership, sport development, women in sport, coaching, officiating and long service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hall of Fame and Awards Selection Committee is charged with annually selecting the Racquetball Canada Hall of Fame inductees and annual award recipients. An overview of the composition of the Hall of Fame and Awards Selection Committee can be found below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Board of Directors will appoint the members of the Selection Committee for a 3 year term on a rotating basis and designate a Chair of the Committee for a renewable one year term.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The purpose of the committee will be to recommend nominees annually to the Board of Directors for induction into the Racquetball Canada Hall of Fame and recipients of Racquetball Canada annual awards<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Selection Committee will be comprised of five members and in appointing the members the Board of Directors shall take into consideration the importance of having representation from all regions of Canada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Appointments to the Selection Committee by the Board of Directors may be made at any time to fill vacancies. In the event that a member of the Selection Committee is temporarily unavailable, a substitute may be appointed by the President of the Board of Directors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Coach Selection Committee<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
The coach selection committee is assembled when Racquetball Canada is required to select coaches for national team assignments, the configuration of the committee is different each time national team selections are required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The coach selection committee is comprised of 3 members who are not linked in any way to the coaches who have applied for a national team position. The composition is a follows: a representative from Quebec, a representative from Eastern Canada and a representative from Western Canada. Each of these individuals will have background as either a coach or athlete or official or have experience in more than one or all areas. The names and roles of the selection committee members are kept confidential, but the areas of the country and their experience in the sport are shared with the coaches who have applied for national team positions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Racquetball Canada Administrator of High Performance and Sport Development coordinates the coach selection process and is the liaison between the coaches who have applied for a spot on the national team and the selection committee.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
