BURLINGTON, ON (May 26, 2025) – <\/strong>Racquetball Canada\u2019s 2025 National Championships wrapped up an exciting and action-packed week of competition at the Cedar Springs Racquet Health and Sports Club in Burlington, Ontario. From May 18 to 24, Canada\u2019s top athletes battled for national titles in divisions ranging from junior to elite, with new champions emerging and returning champions defending their crowns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the Women\u2019s Open Singles division, Montr\u00e9al\u2019s Fr\u00e9d\u00e9rique Lambert claimed her seventh national title, delivering a commanding performance in the final against Juliette Parent (Saint-Jacques, QC) with scores of 13-11, 11-7, 11-4. Mich\u00e8le Morissette (Baie-Comeau, QC) joined Lambert on the podium with a bronze medal win over Cher Allen (Winnipeg, MB) with scores of 11-2, 11-4, 11-3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lambert and Morissette also dominated in Women\u2019s Open Doubles, capturing their fourth consecutive national title as a team. The silver medal in the round-robin division was won by Chlo\u00e9 Jauvin (Terrebonne, QC) and Ofelia Wilscam Repentigny, QC), and the team of Juliette Parent (Saint Jacques, QC) and Eva Pocsai (New Hamburg, ON) won bronze.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the Men\u2019s Open Singles division, Coby Iwaasa (Lethbridge, AB) returned to the top of the podium for the first time since 2015, defeating six-time defending champion Samuel Murray (St-Hubert, QC) in four games: 11-6, 3-11, 11-4, 11-4. Trevor Webb (Kitchener, ON) earned bronze with a victory over Kurtis Cullen (Brandon, MB): 11-4, 13-11, 9-11, 11-7.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cullen and Iwaasa also stood atop the podium in Men\u2019s Open Doubles, clinching gold in a four-game match against rising athletes Leyton Gouldie (Brandon, MB) and Asher Pocsai (New Hamburg, ON): 11-7, 11-4, 9-11, 11-5. Francis and Rapha\u00ebl Guillemette (Saint-Antoine-Sur-Richelieu, QC), competing together for the first time, won bronze.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The tournament also featured a full slate of junior and masters divisions, showcasing the next generation of racquetball talent and a deep pool of long-time players. Based on singles results, the following athletes have qualified for Canada\u2019s Junior National Team and earned the opportunity to represent Canada at the 2025 IRF World Junior Championships:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
