WINNIPEG (Wednesday, July 22, 2026) – Racquetball Canada is proud to announce the athletes named to its 2026–27 National Elite and Development Teams.

This year’s roster brings together experienced international competitors and an emerging generation of athletes, reflecting the depth and strength of Canada’s high-performance program. Every team member has represented Canada internationally as either a senior or junior athlete and earned selection through their performances at this season’s National Team Selection Events and the 2026 National Championships.

National Elite Teams

The Women’s Elite Team combines a decorated veteran core with the next generation of Canadian champions. The roster features athletes with national championship success and international podium experience at the World Championships and Pan American events, led by Frédérique Lambert and Juliette Parent.

The Men’s Elite Team returns an experienced, internationally proven lineup. The roster features athletes with national championship success and extensive international experience, led by Samuel Murray and Coby Iwaasa.

National Development Teams

The Women’s Development Team brings together experienced leadership and emerging talent. Michèle Morissette brings extensive international experience and proven success at the national level and is joined by a wave of junior national athletes continuing their transition into elite competition.

The Men’s Development Team features a mix of rising junior athletes and competitors returning to the national program. Christian and Asher Pocsai lead a group that represents the next generation of Canadian talent, supported by athletes continuing their development and pursuit of elite-level competition.

Jennifer Saunders, Director of High Performance

“The announcement of our 2026–27 National Team marks the beginning of another exciting season for Racquetball Canada. Our Elite and Development athletes have earned this opportunity through their performances and commitment to continual improvement. We are committed to providing an environment that challenges and supports them as they pursue excellence, represent Canada with pride, and inspire the next generation of athletes across the country.”

Selections were based on results from two National Team Selection Events held earlier this season, along with performances at the 2026 National Championships.

Athletes named to the National Teams receive financial support from Racquetball Canada through funding provided by Sport Canada. Athletes who will receive carding support through Sport Canada’s Athlete Assistance Program will be announced this fall.

The teams will gather this summer for a national training camp as they begin preparations for the 2026 World Championships and the upcoming national season.
